This CR Journal, Volume 04, Number 02, December 2018, contains five articles covering various sectors. The titles are: 1) Leadership Strategies of School Principals in Facing Educational Policy Issues: A Qualitative Approach at MTS Jagat Raya, Kedongdong Village, Susukan District, Cirebon Regency, 2) Characterization of Tropical Seaweed from the Thousand Islands as a Source of Raw Materials for Cosmetics, 3) Efficacy of Buprofezin Active Ingredient Insecticide Against Empoasca sp. in Tea Plantations, 4) Facilitator Performance in the Development of Sustainable Food Home Programs in Kuningan Regency, 5) Farmer Preferences for Dayang Sumbi and Sangkuriang Agrihorti Potato Varieties Resistant to Leaf Blight Disease.

The first article discusses two policy issues: the need for exam questions to be sourced from the Ministry of Religion and the frequent changes in teacher workload. To address these issues, the school principal provides guidance to students and fulfills teacher work hours by teaching at other schools. Then, the second article reports that the extraction of E. cottoni and Sargassum sp. seaweed using n-hexane and ethyl acetate solvents yielded the highest extract yields of 396 mL and 325 mL, respectively. Initial characterization results indicate that Thousand Islands seaweed has potential for cosmetic development.

The third article reveals that Buprofezin 100 g/l insecticide at all tested doses had an effect on the intensity and population of Empoasca sp. Observations showed that the highest efficacy levels were achieved with doses of 0.375 and 0.5 l/ha, with efficacy rates exceeding 70%. Next, the fourth article highlights that the facilitators involved in backyard management activities are, in order of importance, KWT facilitators, gapoktan, local government, and BPTP facilitators. Generally, the type of facilitator performance that satisfies housewives in both research locations is the level of satisfaction with facilitator performance services in terms of visits, service quality, knowledge level, and creativity. However, in terms of cooperation with user audiences, particularly facilitation of marketing partnerships, it is considered to be between low and moderate. The fifth article concludes that Dayang Sumbi and Sangkuriang varieties are highly tolerant to leaf blight disease. This is supported by the strong preference of farmers for these two varieties, as their assessment indicates that the growth and tuber yield of both varieties are excellent. Potato farming using these two varieties can reduce fungicide costs by 62.96% (compared to fungicide costs) or reduce costs by 9.19% (compared to total costs). The technology of potato varieties tolerant to leaf blight disease (Dayang Sumbi and Sangkuriang) has a high innovation value, and the variants have a high potential to be adopted by farmers.
