This issue of CR Journal, Volume 07, No. 02, December 2021, features five articles covering various sectors. The titles are: 1) Urban Settlement Pressure on Agriculture in Land Use Dynamics with a Spatial Modeling Approach (Case Study: SWK Gede bage), 2) Bibliometric Analysis on Water, Energy, and Food (WEF) Security Nexus, 3) Prospects for Developing Environmentally Friendly Rice Cultivation Technology (BPRL) in Rainfed Paddy Fields, 4) Analysis of Labor Absorption Factors in the Rebana Triangle Development Area, and 5) Economic Recovery Policy Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic in West Java: Response and Recovery Strategies.

The first article reveals that accessibility is a dominant factor influencing land use change. While SWK Gedebage currently has a predominantly agricultural land use, predictions show that by 2036, residential land use will expand southward by 168 hectares, actively converting agricultural land at a rapid pace. Over 90% of land use conversion occurs on agricultural land. Then, the second article highlights an increase in research documents related to water, energy, and food security, both as separate sectors and as an interconnected nexus. The use of diverse keywords representing sectoral and integrated approaches indicates a shift in perspective among the scientific community in examining water, energy, and food resources. Existing studies have successfully explored the interconnectedness of water-energy-food systems and external factors like climate, population, forests, industry, and other development sectors.

The third article demonstrates that implementing environmentally friendly rice cultivation technology can increase average productivity by 0.85 t ha-1 (13.49%) with an R/C of 2.11. Next, the fourth article, using a Generalized Least Square model on panel data, reveals that labor absorption in all districts/cities in West Java is significantly influenced by PMTB, UMK, ABD, and IP factors. However, labor absorption in all districts/cities within the Rebana Triangle Development Area is only significantly influenced by ABD and IP factors. The fifth article provides insights into the government's response to handling and controlling the spread of the pandemic and the economic recovery strategies implemented. The West Java Provincial Government responded with two actions: issuing regulations and policies for pandemic management on one hand and providing social assistance on the other.
