Abstract

Food and nutritional insufficiency remain a global challenge, as reflected in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2 on zero hunger. These conditions directly affect human capital quality, economic productivity, and regional competitiveness. The Prevalence of Undernourishment (PoU) is one of the internationally recognized indicators used to assess inadequate food consumption. In 2024, the PoU in Sukabumi Regency was relatively high at 5.82%. This study examines the spatial patterns of PoU at the village level in Sukabumi Regency and investigates its association with the Village Development Index (Indeks Desa Membangun/IDM). PoU data for 2024 were analyzed using Moran’s Index and Local Indicators of Spatial Autocorrelation (LISA), followed by correlation analysis to evaluate the relationship between PoU and IDM. The findings indicate a Moran’s Index value of 0.502, demonstrating a significant spatial clustering of PoU, with hotspot areas concentrated in the northwestern and southern regions. The correlation analysis produced a coefficient of –0.377, suggesting a negative association between PoU and IDM. Hotspot patterns in developed and independent villages were predominantly located in the southern region. These results underscore the presence of interregional linkages associated with elevated PoU levels in Sukabumi Regency and highlight the need for more targeted development policies, particularly those aimed at strengthening food security through improved governance to enhance human capital quality.
