Abstrak

Kawasan perkotaan dengan aglomerasi perguruan tinggi memiliki potensi strategis untuk berkembang menjadi ekosistem pengetahuan yang dinamis. Agar ekosistem pengetahuan tersebut dapat berkembang secara berkelanjutan dan adaptif, diperlukan peran dan fungsi riset dan inovasi yang terintegrasi secara sistemik, kolaborasi lintas kampus dan tersedia forum riset kawasan. Selain itu dibutuhkan ketersediaan infrastruktur seperti techno park dan ruang kolaborasi yang optimal sebagai sistem bersama. Studi ini menganalisis kapasitas produksi pengetahuan, infrastruktur pendukung dan tata kelola kolaboratif di Kawasan Perkotaan Jatinangor (KPJ) sebagai kota pendidikan yang tengah bertransformasi menuju Knowledge City. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif berbasis studi kasus dengan kerangka indikator Knowledge City yang mencakup dimensi modal manusia, produksi riset, infrastruktur pengetahuan, kolaborasi triple helix dan kapasitas kelembagaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa KPJ memiliki fondasi kuat dalam modal manusia dan keluaran riset, terutama didorong oleh keberadaan institusi kunci di KPJ seperti UNPAD, ITB dan lembaga pendidikan tinggi yang berdaya saing. Studi ini merekomendasikan strategi penguatan melalui pembentukan forum riset regional, pendanaan kolaboratif, pengembangan techno park berbasis komunitas dan integrasi agenda riset dengan prioritas pembangunan daerah. Strategi ini diharapkan mampu mendorong transformasi KPJ menjadi Knowledge City yang inklusif, adaptif dan berdaya saing.
